Contact inhibition
Contact inhibitionとは、Wikipediaによると、
Contact inhibition is the natural process of arresting cell growth when two or more cells come into contact with each other. Oncologists use this property to distinguish between normal and cancerous cells.
Cell lines used widely in animal cell culture laboratories are genetically modified to suppress apoptosis however maintain this phenomenon.
細胞培養に使っている接着細胞を、フラスコやディッシュの中で育てると、底に接着して増えるのだけれど、底が細胞で一杯になると、細胞の増殖が止まる。あるいはある程度死んだりする。要するに、細胞同士が接することによって、増殖が止まるのである。（ちなみにガン細胞は止まらない）
最近引っ越して思ったのだが、物も一緒な感じ！別に床を物でいっぱいにするわけじゃないけど（笑）。
大きい家に引っ越せば物が増えるしー。
小さい家に引っ越せば、物が減る！
ちょうどいいところであわせて止まる！
そっくりだと思ったのであった。
今日の教訓 サイズにあわせて物も増えたり減ったりする。
